Clay Kaytis over at the Animation Podcast has created an Animation Timeline detailing the release dates of Feature animated films and other milestone productions in animation. I love this! I will most likely register later today and add El Cid, Nocturna, The Iron Giant and Osmosis Jones if someone doesnt' beat me to it.
My favorite part of this is that we animators complain about the state of the industry, but if you look at the timeline there's been a heavy concentration of animation production over the past 25 years. Granted in the past 15 there have been a great number of 3D films but all the same, it is a prolific time for our industry.
As an aside I'm learning to use Digicel Flipbook at the moment, I've never done the ink and paint/compositing side of animation, any suggestions would be great! I'm having a heck of a time muddling through how to use it.
*Edit - I tried to embed the timeline into the blog here but it was huge and caused things to look funky. There is a feed to right. If you click it, it will open up the timeline where you can continue on to edit it yourself.
